Job Description

As the Legal Executive Assistant, you will provide dynamic administrative support to a group of litigation attorneys in the DC office of a nationally recognized law firm. You’ll play a critical role in managing a fast-paced workload, facilitating case logistics, and ensuring top-tier client service. From handling filings to coordinating schedules, and managing sensitive documents, this is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the success of high-impact legal matters.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to a team of highly active attorneys managing complex litigation cases.
  • Prepare documents for upcoming meetings, track approaching deadlines, and ensure proper documentation for case management.
  • Draft, revise, and format legal documents; prepare materials for court filings and internal use.
  • Track and maintain litigation deadlines, assist with court procedures, and coordinate the finalization of legal documents.
  • Coordinate team schedules, including arranging detailed, point-to-point travel itineraries.
  • Prepare and process expense reports, enter billable time, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks and conduct ad hoc research projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contacts to manage logistics, support casework, and maintain smooth operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced and resourceful. At least four to five years of litigation-focused administrative legal support experience, ideally within a law firm setting.
  • Writing and editing expert. You clearly express ideas in writing and spot grammatical errors in documents. Strong writing and editing skills are essential.
  • Detailed. You understand how critical quality work is to a legal case. Organization and an eye for detail are key.
  • Flexible. You are open to new challenges as your position grows and develops based on the needs of the team.
  • Articulate. It’s essential that you possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Calm under pressure. You thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt easily to new tools, procedures, and court requirements.
