**Responsibilities** **POSITION SUMMARY:** This position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision under the general direction of a radiologist and radiology administration. In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health the Sonographer is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for performing diagnostic testing used in the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care for patients. **Qualifications** **REQUIRED:** + Must have successfully passed the ARDMS Registry for Abdomen or Ob/Gyn; OR Completion of an ARRT program and successfully obtained a Sonography licensure. + High school diploma or equivalent; and Successful completion from an accredited Sonography school. + Current Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required. + Completion of an ARRT program with current Sonography licensure required OR Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers (ARDMS) in ONE of the following areas: Abdomen OR Ob/Gyn required + Must achieve certification in both Abdomen and Ob/Gyn within one year of hire required **PREFERRED:** + RVT experience + Associate Degree in Science ARRT CRT & CRT Fluoroscopy **Overview** Dominican Hospital (a member of Dignity Health) is a 222-bed facility that offers a wide range of services to residents of California's Central Coast.
